pt might be having OSA or some respiratory problem
get ur check up done from Pulmonologist
Does lying down flat cause breathlessness? Does sitting up straight improve it? Any swelling around the ankles? Any previous heart problems? Diabetes? High bp? If answers to these are yes, then your father could be showing symptoms of heart failure and you should take him to a cardiologist.

No lying down straight does not cause breathlessness this condition appear when he was in deep sleep or in the middle of the sleep he does not have diabetes or high blood pressure
