Dear 22 years old,
There is no problem with having a circumcision at any age. In Europe, UK, USA etc, older un-circumcised men are offered circumcision to help with their hygiene and some other medical reasons.
Side effects include bleeding, poor cosmetic appearance for your satisfaction etc but no major complication is expected.
You can expect it to heal in around 2 weeks on an average but intercourse might still be painfull for few weeks due to hypersensitivity of exposed glans.
Urologist should be the person performing this procedure on adults (in operation theatre).
