Asking for Other, Male, 2 years old, Bahrain
Aoa..Dear doctors...My 2 years and 1 month old baby boy is having plaque on front teeth. And one of his tooth is slightly broken from the side..i will also attach the pic...he is not fond of any snacks, chips, choclates etc.we give him seldom a choclate...but not on daily basis. My question is whats the reason behind this?
share the pictures pls .. It looks like bottle/rampant caries
Hello,
It looks like caries due to using feeder for prolonged amount of time before sleeping. But it can be other things too. Please attach pictures for better answer.
Probably baby bottle caries . Take him to any dentist to get them restored
Nursing bottle caries is the cause.... actually prolonged feeding from feeders especially in night is the real problem...switch to sipper bottle and restored teeth with fillings
walikum asalam!
dear concerned mother,
it is because of the milk accumulation inside upper lip while drinking bottle milk
you can start taking your kid to the dentist so he can be comfortable fixing his tooth later on.
I can guide you more by looking at his teeth more accurately.

yes dear these are cavities starting in his teeth.
here is what you can do :
1.stop bottle feeding as early as possible.
2.dont give sugars in any of the liquids in the bottle.
3. brush at night is must
4. get varnish treatment from time to time so this doesn't progress
kindly book an online consult so I can guide you proper brushing technique in children.
or visit if it's feasible for you.
May Allah help you in this.

it's early childhood caries case .
treatment at this age is .
1 diet control
a reduce frequency of sugar uptake
b reduce duration of food consumption especially sleeping with bottle in mouth
c avoid stick food like chocolate biscuits
d prefer hard solid foods
2 brushing with flouride toothpaste.
3 silver diamine flouride and flouride varnish application after every three month .
the child is at this age usually don't cooperate with surgical treatment like tooth filling .purple is to implement all medical option and stop disease .Once child is cooperative then we can do filling etc to manage function and cosmatic

you have to brush his teeth on daily basis protect ABC is highly recommended in children and acording to different studies if children has eating too much sweets at one time a day is not that much dangerous as eating different time a day
Make sure your child brush regularly twice a day after waking up and before going to bed, use fluoride toothpaste. Consult near by dentist
