Can we shape 3 month old infant's head/forehead when he has cephalohematoma? pic of head ia attached
and if there is nothing like cephalohematoma, then is it recommended to shape infant's head or forehead or not?
Straddling an infant to make him lie down still on back so as to shape the back of the head is not recommended. It may itself cause asymmetry of the skull called positional plagiocephaly. Straddling may also cause hip problems. A cephalhaematoma may better be left alone as in resolves with time.
