salam, i have been on fluoxetine for 9 years for depression. my depression got controlled but from last few year i started having panic disorder and hypertension. recently a doctor changed my drug fluoxetine to paroxetine cr 25mg bd. i m taking avsar plus 160/5/12.5 for hypertension. kimdly tell me if paroxetine would worsen my blood pressure. i started paroxetine today and have been feeling mild headaches. but i cant check bp as i have phobia of checking my blood pressure.
Paroxetine is least likely to cause Hypertension or increased blood pressure. Headaches will go away in a week or two . You can use your Hypertension meds along. nothing to worry about.

thankyou madam m final year mbbs student and have been worried about my blood pressure. during warnings i saw that paroxetine can cause surge in bp. my bp is already very difficult to control

paroxetine has no drug interaction with amlodipine, HCT or valsartan. there can be other causes of headache as well.

i checked my bp and it was 150 by 90 then i took alp 0.25 and it was 120 by 70 after an hour. so was it due to paroxetine?

it's an unlikely side effect, it can effect heart beat that can increase blood pressure but headache with SSRI in first week is a common side effect, verification can be done by checking it at time of headache
switch paroxetine to nought time and consult your nearest psychiatrist in clinic
