Asking for Self, Male, 23 years old, Lahore
Aoa, I have major depressive disorder and low motivation to do anything for 4 years now. I've been on medication since then. I have attempted suicide 3 times in past and one time recently a month before. Before I was taking Escitalopram 10mg, Mirtazapine 15mg and Quetiapine 100mg and now my doctor has added sertraline 150mg along with escitalopram 15mg. I want to know isn't it too much medication for me because sertraline and escitalopram usually do the same thing. I want to reduce my medication because I feel it's too much and also these meds are very expensive. Kindly guide me what to do.

Thank you.
Sure ! You may kindly discuss the same issue with your doctor. He may probably kept and shifted your treatment of line on ‘augmentative strategy for a resistant depression’.
Hi there. I am sorry to hear that you are going through a difficult time.It is very difficult to answer your question without full assessment. I suggest you get a second opinion from another psychiatrist too regarding your medications. Please do not reduce the medications on your own. I hope this helps.
Thanks for sharing ur concern. Depression and GAD are certainly very disturbing conditions. You may consult me for it as you need a continued support for a couple of months to overcome your symptoms. It’s hard to benefit from medicine alone, without talk therapy. Hope that helps.
