Asking for Other, Female, 80 years old, Ismail city daewoo road

Assalamoalaikum My grandmother remains very anxious throughout the day like just being curious about every person's activities and also always trying to seek attention though she's been treated with love and care and her needs are fulfilled on time. Also she is not able to get out of any negative thought if it comes into her mind for instance she imagines that no body respects her. The big big problem is that although she is taking meds for sleeping she is very curious throughout the night and talks all the night she keeps calling everyone's name and gets more curious if somebody responses but never understands if someone sits beside her and try to make her sleep by telling that it's time to sleep for everyone. Also sometimes she picks up things kept nearby and just move them here and there like she puts her Walker over herself during night and she never knows whats happening. Recently she's been ignorant otherwise she's been very careful about her personal things and needs like h

Dear service user, anxiety and sleep problems are both symptoms not the underlying pathologies, in your grandmother’s case who clearly is struggling and undergoing difficulty the underlying problem seems to be old age and cognitive difficulties/impairment. This may sound like a technical word to you but there is no substitute word for cognition. She needs a formal cognitive assessment following which it will be decided that how different aspects of her brain functioning are doing that will finally lead a treatment and care plan. Either see a psychiatrist close to you who is expert in cognitive assessments or book one through Marham. The family members also need help to make sense of this change in behaviour of the elderly person in family. I hope this helps. Kindest wishes

Assalamoalaikum I have my grandmother living with me she's been very active throughout her life but since about 8 years she can't walk without any help. But during this year the situation has worsen like she hardly sits for having food and just uses washroom about 3 to 4 times with the help of toilet wheelchair and a helper. She remains very anxious throughout the day like just being curious about every person's activities and also always trying to seek attention though she's been treated with love and care and her needs are fulfilled on time. Recently she's been ignorant  otherwise she's been very careful about her personal things and needs like her food schedule  her medicines etc. It seems very sad and worried to see her this way as our every effort to make her better goes in vain. Please suggest some therapy or medication that could help..
