Talk to Pediatrician on Sleep Disorder

person-avatar

Asking for Other, Male, 1 years old, Karachi

I’m worried about the sleep pattern of 5 months old son. He takes only 5-10 mins naps twice and some times thrice in daytime and same goes during whole night but not taking proper sleep. He is Masha’Allah healthy and taking proper diet. One more thing I like to add here that we skipped his third vaccination due to current COVID-19 pandemic. We think this situation somehow associated to each other.Kindly advice. Thanks

nothing abnormal. some infant show abnormal sleep pattern during initial phase of life due to excitable sleep centre in brain. This will settle as he grows. No point in delaying his vaccine he must be vaccinated as soon as possible. nothing to with COVID 19 pandemic

If baby is healthy and normal bowel habits nothing to worry. Try to don't over feed him and keep him in normal room temperature. Before sleep try to gently massage his head and body for few minutes. If still no improvement then give him Melatonin drops 3 drops daily evening after sunset.
And Vaccination can be delayed for 5 to 6 weeks.
