Dear Parent
Seems like your kid has a boil which is an skin infection.
As it is very small and single, and he has prickly heat as well, here is some guidance for you
-make sure your kid stay in well ventilated room and have appropriate cotton clothes as too much clothing should be avoided.
-give him bath at least twice a day but use antibacterial soap only once.
-Avoid squeezing this boil
-make sure your kid doesn't do nose picking because it transfer bacteria from nose to skin which actually cause the infection
- apply Bactroban ointment on this boil twice a day, and also apply this ointment inside his nose for at least 5 days.
-cover the boil with band aid to avoid spread of infection to other areas on skin.
- if he has pain in this boil then gently press it with warm compress twice a day.
- if his prickly heat cause him difficulty in sleeping then you can apply Calamine lotion after night shower.
- at times boil burst and drain pus from it, if this happens keep it clean and continue as above mentioned things.
I hope it will help you.
