My son is 1 year and 7 months old. He is late in covering his developmental milestones as compared to other children of his age. After birth he was in NICU for 19 days. He started to sit with bout support at 9-10 months. He didn't start walking and speaking till now. His doctor said nothing to worry, he will cover his milestones late. I m very much worried for him.

Need detailed history and Examination...what was the reason of NICU admission for such a long time...Is there any history of birth insult...
This sometimes happen during early days of life that the brain gets affected e.g. in your case NICU admission and hospitalisation for 19 days. Due to this their developmental milestones are achieved later than the normal kids. You can consult Paeds Neurologist for this and follow their advice.
These children need development assessment and early intervention is better for future life. Do consult nearby pediatrician
