Most likely it's normal physiological jaundice and will be OK after 2 to 3 weeks but needs check up by child specialist

Repeat S bilirubin if high than needs Investigations NICU care and Phototherapy

Pediatrician in Karachi - Dr. Kiran Waqar

Thanks for the query, how is the baby otherwise, feeding well? At what day of life did the jaundice start, what is the mode of delivery, birth weight and gestational age? Physiological jaundice usually settles down by itself, in this child I would like to order a repeat lfts, Cbc and blood group of child and mother

It seems physiologic jaundice. Repeat serum bilirubin if it is increasing trend then needs admission in NICU and phototherapy. Otherwise it will settle down within a week

One week baby with bilirubin of 12.8 is very normal and nothing to worry about this.
No need to repeat level this is already minimum level at this age, so more breast feeding and sunbathing twice a day nothing else......This is normal prolonged physiological jaundice will settle itself without phototherapy and admission.......
