Talk to Pediatrician on Loose Motion
Asking for Self, Male, 28 years old, Karachi
Hi everyone,
my six month old baby passing motion for six to seven times a day since a 4 days, sometimes in green color also like mucus, we have taken her to the doctor and started using the medicine Syrup Q- Plex twice a day Syrup Entamizole twice a day
but no results can anyone have any advice for this...

The most common cause of loose stools is a VIRAL infection. There is NO treatment for viral infection except oral fluids such as ORS. The diarrohea settles in about 2 weeks on its own. There is NO role of ANTIBIOTICS in viral diarrohea.
if the diarrohea persists beyind 2 weeks, or there is fresh blood in the stools, or high grade fever then the stool must be tested for bacterial infection as in that case the antibiotics might be needed.
