Asking For Someone else, Son, Male, 1 Years old, kohat
My son is 11 and half months old . B.w was 3.3 kg current weight is 8 kg. He is vry active MashaAllah eats every thing started walking as wel. He is and was exclusive mother fed baby. I gave him vit Ddrops daily . But the other day i took him to doc as i felt he is under weight there doc said hez very fair so he looks pale and has iron deficiency. I m confused now what should i do for his wight gain and how can a super active baby ha iron deficiency. Plz guide me
I can be because after 6 months only breast feed is not sufficient... U must start weaning diet..
So give him eggs meat fruit and veges... Milk is not sufficient to handle iron requirements
Weaning diet like cerelac, banana, kichri, eggs yellow, fruit, roti etc. should continue along with milk.
Start iron supplements like
Syp. Iberet 500mg
1/2+1/2 one hour before milk for 3 months.
Syp. Vermox
1+1 if u think she has worms too
Since child examination is important. If he is very pale than u can do CBC with periphral smear

I m concerned abt teeth tainting due to iron medicine. Plus i started giving maltofer but he got motions due to tht

What about weaning ( soft diet ) . Your doctor is right. Iron deficiency can easily be confirmed by blood tests.

I did. He eats everything MashaAllah and in good amount.i did started givinf him solids at 6 months .
