Talk to Pediatrician on Food For Baby

person-avatar

Asking for Other, Male, 0.5 years old, Islamabad

My baby is 6 months and 1 week old.

Until now I have given him semolina, wheat porridge, rice and lentils (khichri), fruit purees, vegetable purees. He has tried apple, banana, potato, cauliflower, carrot, peas, sweet potato.

I haven't given him NESTLE CERELAC.

I read somewhere we should give nestle cerelac as it keeps the iron level balanced.

I want to ask is it necessary to give it or i can continue with homemade meals.

What will you suggest?

(He is exclusively on formula)

welldone!

keep it up....

you doing good with fruits and vegetables and others ....

I suggest whether you give cerelac or not, it is not a proper meal for any baby .. it is one the introductory foods to the weaning baby ...

the source of iron in milk is not enough for babies ( even adults ), fruits and vegetables and more superior to these are beef, are good sources of iron.

try to give him meat/beef for iron ( in form of mince or anything you can make for him )

in short cerelac is not necessary for every child
