Aoa, After birth of baby eye discharge starts in left eye. With the passage of time eye discharge became normal but his left eye is looking smaller then right one. Now he is 4 months old. Please guide what i have to do in current situation? You can also see attached picture.
Do your son, also, have a lot of tears coming out of his left eye since birth? Has the eye discharge been coming and going or it only occurred once in the newborn period?

I can understand your concern regarding the eye size. In fact I was trying to figure out if there was a less serious reason for the problem your child has. Although the best would be to take the opinion of a children eye specialist, but I think your child has had a blocked left tear ducts from birth or congenital dacryostenosis. This condition causes recurrent eye infections. I feel there is some swelling of both eye lids due to somewhat persistent infection making the eye look smaller due to less gap between the lids or a short palpebral fissure. A treatment with proper antibiotic eye drops and ointment should improve the condition. It would be interesting to know what medications you have used in past.

Although the best would be to take the advice of your child eye specialist nearby but you may try ciprofloxacin containing Ciloxan Eye Drops - one drop 4 times a day for 2 to 3 weeks in the left eye. Besides, use massage or milking of tear duct on the left 2 to 3 times a day. You may find on YouTube how to do that.
