my 1.5 month old son doing s dark brown greenish stool from past 2 days.hes totally on formula milk brand similac.is it normal?
How many episodes in a day? Loose watery or regular stools?
Get stool DR done. If it's watery give ORS through bottle 1 ounce at least after every loose stool. Syp Zincat 1/2 tsf for 10 days.
We prefer cup and spoon feeding but if not possible.
Bottle hygiene is most necessary thing.
1. Boil bottle before every feed. Don't dry with cloth let it air dry.
2. Proper dilution is another important thing. 1 spoon in 1 ounce of boiled, clean water.
3. If bottle is soiled had scratches, kindly change it.
Additionally,
Child should get breast milk initially for a strong immune system and for normal growth.
If due to any reason you can't give it then at least follow proper hygiene method for bottle.
Greenish stool is nothing to worry. But please consult if the baby has increased number of stools than usual or if the are watery or have blood. Also, used boiled/ sterilised bottles for milk each time. Use boiled water. Wash your hands before preparing milk as well. Just some precautionary advice.
