Talk to Pediatrician on Constant Green Coloured Poo

person-avatar

Asking for Other, Male, 0.7 years old, Karachi

My son is eight months old. I am giving him bf, Similac and other semi solid food. My query is that he always passes green coloured or blackish stool I don't remember either he has poo normally or not.. is it normal? Second thing I need to ask he is always thirsty and drinks water more than he drinks milk. His too much urge for water makes me worried. His weight is 7.5 kg..

The contents of earlier part of breastfeeds can cause stools to turn green. Do not change sides too quickly and let the baby empty the breast first. All milks, whether formula or breast milk, are 83% water. A 6 to12 month infant does not need 4 to 8 ounces of water per day. Feed him on breasts if you think he is thirsty. Give him solid and keep him on breastfeeds only. That is best for a baby.
