Talk to Pediatrician on Baby Squeaks (stridor/laryngomalacia)

person-avatar

Asking for Self, Female, 27 years old, Karachi

My daughter is 6 weeks old and exclusively breastfed. I have been noticing squeaky sounds when she breathes since the start. The squeaks are sometimes too loud and usually come when she is asleep, wakes up and stretches, or while she feeds. I suspect it is stridor. Is it something serious? What should be our next step? What will cure it?

Birth weight: 3.48 kg and now she is over 4.5kg.

What you are describing 'sounds' like stridor. All stridor may not be that serious and may resolve with time.
But your baby must be seen by a Pediatrician first and then may be by an ENT specialist.

Hi. How serious could stridor get?

Depends upon the underlying cause.
That is why it needs to be assessed.
