Talk to Pediatrician on Acute ITP(Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura)
Asking for Other, Female, 5.5 years old, Bahawalpur
My daughter had Mumps 2 months ago.15 days ago i found some bruises on her hand.4 day ago i saw red dots like Petechiae in her mouth.Her blood report shown very low level of platelets 6000.Doctor suggested us to start steroid dactacordinal tablets.After 3 days her platelets level improved to 61000.Now doctor suggested to continue this medicine for further 11 days and than will gradually decrease it. My question to you that what will be the total span of this disease.When will she be cured? What should i do exactly? Is the current treatment is moving in right direction. Please guide.

treatment looks fine. this disease is called ITP, it may resolve completely in a certain percentage of patients and in others it may persist for months and years . treatment is individualized

After 20 days from the date of completion of medicine now her platelets level come down to 192,000.
Is this worrisome or normal? Please guide

Doctor, Thanks for your positive response.Her bruises almost dissapeared.
Is there any chance of relapse and how i can make sure that that this won't happen again to my Kid?
