At 47 it is possible to control pain and improve movements by exercises and physical therapy. Medicines and joint injections may provide temporary relief and help you start a focused exercise plan.

Osteoarthritis is not reversible but can control its symptoms by the following.1) loose weight 2) start doing quadriceps muscle strengthening exercises isometric ones with weight 3) avoid joint loading activities like stairs climbing, walking on uneven surfaces, jumping , running, walking is ok. Physical therapy and some pain medications.
Hi, osteoarthritis by definition is progressive disease. keep walking and exercise and painkillers as required. once it gets very bad the definite cure is total knee replacement. Thanks
Offloading knee braces are effective. These braces shift weight towards painless side. Try to use first. These braces will relieve pain.
