Asking for Father, Male, 79 years old, Islampura lahore
My father have accident on 21-jan and POP is done in FMH emergency,Now seeing the scan please suggest what the further treatment can be done as he is hearth patient and have nose surgery too due to same accident
Thank you for asking. The radiographs of your father are showing that distal radius height, volar tilt and angulation are NOT in acceptable range. The recommended options are close reduction under image intensifier using wires and than a cast for 4 to 6 weeks. Otherwise open reduction and internal fixation using locking plates.
salam. Dr Bilal FRCS Orthopaedic.
i have seen your father's xrays. I agree with first answer that Position of fracture should be improved for best outcome.
If your father is high risk for general anaesthesia, its not a problem. wrist surgery can be safely performed under Local or Regional Anaesthesia.
if you need any more help, do not hesitate to contact.
