Asking for Father, Male, 71 years old, Karachi

My father is undergoing chemotherapy for prostate cancer from Kiran hospital. His oncologist is Dr. Amir maqbool. He had his one session up till now and his next session was due on 2nd April but due to the lockdown, it has been delayed for at least a month. What are the repercussions of delaying chemotherapy sessions?

Even one session will be having positive effect on patient’s disease. However one session will not be having far reaching desired response until repeated scheduled cycles are given.7-10 days delay might not effect the treatment plans under these circumstances.

Thanks a lot for your valuable reply. I hope the delay is no more than two weeks.

He was taking casodex tablet for the past five years and PSA was in control with it but recently it stopped working.
Unfortunately, we are unable to contact our consultant so we are waiting for the lockdown to get over.

He took Abiraterone (samtica) for few months but it didn't work too. I don't know about enzalutamide. I will ask him about it.
In his first chemotherapy session, he was given injection Docetaxel and tablet Prednisolone twice a day.

Docetaxel(Taxotere) is good but Enzalutamide is an option in this situation despite giving nothing.
