A woman age 68 is having protein deficiency which leads to Hemoglobin deficiency also. Kindly guide which food she should take and which to avoid, specially in currently hot weather. She wants to increase her HB, iron and protein.

She should work with a nutritionist or dietician to find a balance that is right for her. Improving hemoglobin levels requires not only iron rich foods, but vitamin C rich foods as well. Iron and Vitamin C work together much like Calcium and Vitamin D. Each and every meal must include an iron rich protein source and a vitamin C source. amsadiqua@gmail.com
In addition to protien rich foods like lentils, beans, eggs, poultry, fish and dairy, She should Consume 2-3 dried apricots + 2-3 dates with 1 glass of water before half an hour of breakfast. She should eat a bowl of mix vegetables or a bowl of mixed fruits on daily basis or eat Cocumber + Apple.
Drink 7-8 glass of water daily. Use handful of mixed nuts as a snack.

Give her immune booster juice which will also increase her hemoglobin. Take one carrot two apples one beetroot 8 spinach leaf and few mint leaf. Inka juice nikal k use krwain once a day. give her broths (yakhni) of vegetables twice a week. and meat broth once a week.
Consume mixed lentils (daals) curry twice a week.
Try adding lemon juice on daal curry and meat curry as it will enhance iron absorption.
Increase fluids, she can add juices preferably fresh juices if not diabetic.
If taking iron supplements then try drinking at least 9-10 glasses of water daily.

to increase iron level also increases the intake of vitamins c rich foods it will help to increase its absorption in the body
meat sources are rich in proteins and iron also use guava it contains great amount of vitamin c
Increase iron intake, Start using Apple and spinach juice (2 green apples and few leaves of Spinach with 1 glass of water) blend it all together. have this drink for a couple of weeks.
