A 74 year patient of CKD stage 5 on medicines only, read on the internet about the new treatment of kidney disease " PRP" and " Stem Cell therapy". What is the status of this procedure, Is it safe and effective. Is it available in Pakistan. Kindly advice.
It is not available in pakistan nor any significant data on it.
Asalamoalikum, well this therapy is not available uptill now, even in most developed countries, stage 5 patient should ideally be going for preemptive renal transplant, if not should check his creatinine clearance if less then 10 ml/min, should go for either peritoneal dialysis If having good urine out put, otherwise AV fistula for hemodialysis.
