Talk to Internal Medicine on Enquiry For Vit D 600,000 Inj And Caltrate,Centrum
Asking for Self, Male, 29 years old, Karachi
1). Dear Doctors, yesterday I had an IM Vit D 600,000 IU Injection. I want to ask is it safe to have Caltrate 600 as per prescription (1 Tablet daily) alongwith the Centrum Tablet.
Would Caltrate be overdose in addition to Vit D Injection?
2. Is it safe to take Caltrate and Centrum at the same time or there should be some interval?

You can ontinue Taking Centrum. There is no need to take caltrare.

Usually dosages in multivitamins are according to daily requirement. so its betted to avoid overdosage although water soluble vitamins dnt stay and excreted in case of overdosage.
U can take them together
No issues.

U can take them together but my point is why a 29 year old need two multi vitamins

I dont know my GP prescribed me a daily tablet of Caltrate. He said since your Vit D is low, to build up fastly, you need to have injection. If you go for tablets it is gonna take a long time.

If your s.vitamin D level is below 30
, u can take BOTH.
