Talk to Gynecologist on Inflammation In Uterus And Ovaries

My wife says: I had irregular periods since past couple of months and sometimes they were happening only after 10 days. I got my pelvis ultrasound yesterday and doctor told me that i have inflammation in uterus and prescribed me antibiotics 400mg Mexil. Usually it's to be taken for 5 days but doc told me to take for 15 days. Please tell me should i take it for 15 days means 3 courses or 1 only? Isn't it too much of antibiotics together if 3 courses are taken?
