Asking For Father, Male 60, Rawalpindi

My Father diagnosed with Hepatitis C positive. In PCR test viral load was also defected. After 3 months of treatment PCR report came negative. What are the chances virus can be active again? And what test should be done again to check ? PCR or simple Hepatitis test will be enough?
