Asking For Self, Female, 30 Years old, lahore
Aoa dr I have dermoid cyst since four years I have done one ct scan , but not remove yet because unmarried, now due to some abdominal issues my gastroenterologist suggested ct enterography which include pelvic area also , can repeated ct scan can cause any harm to ovaries , dermoid cyst or other pelvic organs ??? my wedding soon after that I will plan my family ,
No... There's is no harm I'm doing that again ... But do consult a laproscopic surgeon and remove your dermoid cyst before marriage it's good for you before pregnnacy
Radiation risk is negligible bcoz low dose is used. Anywaz it should be done only when absolutely necessary
dermoid cyst will be desolved by medicine don't you worry it's completely treatable after taking some medicine kindly book appointments with me
CT scan definitely exposes your body to radiations, Ct enterography involves CT of small bowel and doesn't expose ovaries to radiations. Moreover, here benefit of Ct scan is more than the risk, go ahead with your Ct enterography
Discuss with your doctor , if the issues of abdomen are not too much, do not go for CT enteroghraphy as you are young and CT carries risk of radiation
