Why dexamethasone inj 12mg is given to pregnent woman in 34-35th week. Is it necessary even if normal delivery is expected? Some doctors suggests it just in case of c section. Kindly reply asap thanks

It is for lung maturity of baby
Dexamethasone or Betamethasone is given for lung maturity and prevent enterocolitis in preterm newborn. It is irrespective of mode of delivery. Betamethasone is better than Dexamethasone.
dexamethsone is given if delivery is planned at less than 39 weeks pregnancy. it is given to mature baby's lung
