Talk to General Surgeon on Wound Open After 6 Days Of Steri Strip Application

Respected Doctors, this is regarding my son. he met an accident almost 6 days ago. There is a cut by the eyebrow as shown in picture. we took him to emergency , medical offer suggested steri strip , and now after 6 days the wound looks quite open. please advise

assalam o alaikum, steri strip was a good option, I think it might have slipped, you can again go for steri strip, otherwise stitching is a good option now

The edges are not approximated and will lead to ugly scar. since upper lid is involved a plastic surgeon should be consulted for delayed suturing.
apply steristrip again, otherwise secondary suturing is a good option.
if left like this, it wil close, but with a rather not good scar.
Since six days have passed so little chance of re stitching as facial skin has good blood supply which means fibrosis will be there. apply polyfax cream.
in my opinion consult plastic surgeon. refresh the margens nd secondary closure

clean the wound and apply steri strips again after approximating the wound
traumatic wounds should not be closed and left as such.....just apply polyfax oinment over it and daily dressing......its healing wound.

yes Sir. kur doctor has suggested to do so. there is a a shell over it now. applying polyfax in a day time and contractobex at night
