Talk to General Surgeon on Pilonidal Sinus

person-avatar

Asking for Self, Male, 20 years old, Islamabad

I had an open excision in June. The wound healed on it's own within 3 months but I am starting to see a new sinus tract build up. I can't go through another surgery and that's why I need some tips that can help me get rid of this. PS: I will be seeing my GP tomorrow and I hope everything goes well. Thank you!

Aoa well it is sinus again , Definitive treatment is surgical excision
only, other measures e.g sitz bath only decrease the inflammation but it is
not the definitive treatment

Thanks for the reply! The sinus tract is gone now. I don't know what's happening. Is this even normal?

dear its a recurrance of pilonidal sinus.
It needs surgery again. I do limberg flap for such cades as the recurrance rate is low with flaps.
so get it operated.

Sinus opening is off and on difficult to see during the course of disease due to variable degree of infection. It will become evident again.
