Asking for Father, Male, 63 years old, Rawalpindi
Hello, My father's age is 63 he is diabetic. He doesn't have any hypertension issues before but last week he said he is feeling unwell pain in shoulders and shortness of breath issue. Then we visited the dr he checked the bp it was 180/110. He gave two tablets of Lasix after that his bp was in control for two days but still, almost daily he is feeling unwell and bp is getting high like 150/110. he is taking bp medicine. I want to know which lab test he requires now and which Dr we should consult for further investigation.

He might be having heart issue and it's symptoms appear less specific in a diabetic patient. Please get an ECG done in emergency and consult a cardiologist. Cardiac biomarkers can also be done for heart attack diagnosis.
He might need Serum Urea, serum creatinine, fasting sugar and fasting lipid profile.

it's best to get an ecg done and visit a cardiologist as he is diabetic and this sounds like cardiac ischaemia. He might want to check for Trop I. But that's totally upto his evaluation.

Hello..!! which BP medicines he is taking and in what frequency? You need to get his few investigations done which include Lipid Profile, ECHO.. For lipid profile, 12 hour fasting is required. With these test reports, consult a Cardiologist as early as possible..!! Thank you

Thanks for sharing ur concern. Since when does he have shortness of breath? Any associated cough? swelling of feet and legs ? weight gain ? chest pain ? Any urinary issues esp at night ? Post all the medicines that he is taking.
Salaam its good to know that u r describing symptoms quite elaborately but some still remain answered. you will need one internal medicine doctor alongside cardiologist.
Get his ecg as soon as possible. Get his random and fasting sugar, HbA1c,Renal function tests, lipid profile first. As he is diabetic. Which medicine he is taking for sugar and bp
Which medicine is he on for hypertension? What dose and frequency? Get his ECG, CBC and Lipid Profile done. Hopefully, all my respected colleagues here can prescribe the medicine if the issue is benign and no intervention is needed for his issue.
