Talk to General Physician on Tendonitis
Asking For Self, Male 36, lahore
I was diagnosed left shoulder tendonitis after an ultrasound scan. I get muscle stiffness around my left side chest. doctor advised to take the pain killers and tizanidine 2mg when needed .. if the problem is really bothering then he said to go for a steroid injection. I just wanted to ask if this steroid injection has any effects? or shall I keep taking painkillers and muscle relaxant? thanks
yes,steroid injection plus physiotherapy of left shoulder are the next step of treatment if oral treatment fails to relief the problem.
pain killers are better option..
but if this pain is disturbing your daily life , then u can go for steroid injection , local injection doesn't cause so much side effects like when taken orally..
then you should go for MRI shoulder to confirm findings.. then decide whether to go for steroids or not...

MRI is more specific for soft tissue inflammation then ultrasound

Dear hope you are fine now. Shoulder tendonitis will take its own time. best treatment is physiotherapy of shoulder.. Which will speed up recovery.. Pain killer and relaxants are only temporary and on need basis treatment.. Local steroid are good and affective if pain is unbearable or its effecting your livelihood.
