Asking for Mother, Female, 46 years old, Hyderabad
My mother has chronic hx of shorthness of breath, sometime takes betnesol in winter season. Now the problem has worsen. She daily reqiures to nebulize. She takes 2 broncodilators and 1 antihistaminic drug on alternative days. I want to ask , does she need to take these drugs on daily basis for lifelong ? Or is there another solution for this ?

She has diagnosed with bronchial asthma.. she is taking montelukast , britinyl and loret tab . Can she take these on daily basis?

It appears that your mother is either suffering from COPD or Asthma. The best treatment in her case are inhalers having Salmetrol and Flucatisone. Tab. Betnesol are for only occasional use, it's long term use leads to weight gain, increase in BP and may precipitate Diabetes. So it should be avoided. We need to have her xrays chest PA view taken, and if possible her respiratory fuction tests through spirometry. Only then further plan of treatment can be chalked out.
