Talk to General Physician on Prediabetes?

I've prediabetes since 5 years and taking Glucophaage 1g 1+1 along high blood pressure & cholesterol, later two issues are well controlled. My fasting & random readings had remained under normal range for years, now it has risen to prediabetes range. Is there any other class of medicine which is helpful? I've read on webMD that there are new medicines which prevent kidneys from reabsorbing sugar in blood etc...
