Asking for Mother, Female, 56 years old, Rawalpindi
She is suffering from high blood pressure from yesterday she is taking eziday 50mg before that she had taken 25mg eziday but still her bp is 180/120 please tell solution

her BP is stage 3 should need atleast 2 drus to control. it better to giva combination of 2 drugs like tab extor 5/160 mg once daily

Hi. Thanks for your query. She needs definitely two drugs and also need to modify her life style. Take balanced diet with less salt and fats. Avoid oil and fried things. It’s not just to treat the numbers of blood pressure but to treat the whole of the patient. Try to do at least walking every day even if it’s just 10-15 minutes better is if it’s 30 minutes. She needs to check her weight and if it’s more to lose weight. Check her blood sugar better if it’s before her breakfast. Also I’ll recommend to check her cholesterol. At least once a year check eyes and do kidney tests. High blood pressure may affect your eyes kidneys heart and brain. So it’s not just lowering down numbers of BP but to have a good life style to improve life expectancy. Life style modification is more important than just taking few pills. You can start tablet exforge 5/160 every morning. After checking other things as I mentioned above she may need some other medicine. I hope it makes sense.

This medicine is not enough to control her BP you should consult a physician. If you are in Lahore you can come to me after 20th August because I am in USA at present
