Talk to Gastroenterologist on Stomach Issue

1. I have old stomach issue. Mostly heartburn and pain. This problem comes and goes every 5,6 months. I take esomeprazole or any other PPI with some other prescribed medicine like Mebeverine HCL or Itopride and I become ok. This has been happening for the past 7,8 years. Whenever I have this issue I feel that my stomach is unable to absorb nutrition from the food I eat. I had Stool Pancreatic Elastase test and the amount of elastase was below than normal (161ug/g) normal range being >200ug/g. What is the prognosis ? Any opinion? 2. I have just come back from Europe and there I had gastroscopy and I was diagnosed with a 2cm hiatal hernia but doctor told me that its not that big have to take care of your diet and divide the diet in small portion. She prescribed me Pantaoprazole for life.My question is that is there any way to get rid of medicines altogether? Or at least can I switch to any other medicine other than PPIs. I do not want to continue PPIs as they cause anxiety. Thanks
