There are different phases of establishing whether someone got IBD or not.
Most important is clinical history.History alone can guide you towards diagnosis in majority of cases.So a good brief history is important.
Then comes few supportive tests for diagnosing IBD followed by Colonoscopy if required.
on the other hand IBS is the diagnosis of exclusion.Means we exclude certain diseases on taking proper histories and some diseases by certain tests and then we can label someone having IBS.
But if your question is to differentiate between IBS and IBD by one test then it's Fecal Calprotectin level.Higher levels indicate IBD or inflammation and can be used to differentiate from IBS
.
Fecal calprotectin level test is available in good labs of Islamabad.
But it's recommended that you do visit Gastroenterologist in your area.
