Talk to Gastroenterologist on Gestational Diabetes

I want to ask how to prevent the chances of still birth with gestational diabetes. It took me a lot of time, energy and treatments to finally conceive a baby. I want to know all the ways I can protect my baby. Everyone is scaring me, Google, my OB/Gyn, midwife, community support groups. I cannot find any information on how to prevent still birth in this condition, only that still birth is a common consequence of GD. I am on 1.5g metformin and 8 units of insulin. The blood sugar readings are fairly normal throughout the day.
