Asking for Mother, Male, 60 years old, Karachi
Dear Doctors. kindly find below picture of my mother's eyes. She is having extreme irritation and mild-swelling in both eyes with ocassional drain from both eyes that goes away on its's own and then comes back again.
She is Hypertensive and diagnosed with Temporal Arthritis and Hypothyroidism. She is also taking Deltacortril steroid. For HT, she is taking CoTelsan. In addition, she is also taking Thyroxine, Concor.
She is having this problem since the onset of TArthritis but she already wears glasses for weak eyesight.
Is this reaction to aforementioned tablets or is it curable?
looks like she is having allergy and blephritis... start
ocudine eye drops one drop twice daily for 15 days
systane eye drops one drop 4 times daily
blephamide eye ointment on bases of eye lashes at night for 3 weeks
Seems to be some Allergic reaction. Hypothyrodism also cause dry eyes. Try oral antiallegic medication like Tab Desloratidine 10 mg once daily and topical Olopatadine eye drops two times a day and Blink Fresh eye drops two time a day. Its betrer to get eye examination done from any eye specialist near you including intraocular pressure as using oral steroids if possible.

Thank you for the response Dr.
What will you suggest for this keeping in view her problems of GCA AND HT. Is this any side effect to these existing medical conditions?
