Talk to Ent Specialist on Tonces Issue

Hello Sir. My son is 3 year old and facing Tonces issues now a days. Doctor said surgery will be done when become 5 or 6 years. Please guide surgery is mandatory or we have some other permanent solution. Best Regards. Rana Zahid

It is very important that to get them checked as mostly children are diagnosed to have chronic tonsillitis but they are suffering from Throat reflux
Surgery can be done at this age if indicated. Like in sleep apnoea or
severe non respomsive infectioms
Have to examine the patient then can guide
Kindly have a visit wth an ENT doctor.The indication for surgery is as follows
recurrent epidsode of tonsillitis 5-7 a year requiring antibiotic..Or enlarged tonsils causing difficulty breathing usually associated with enlargded adenoids(obstructive sleep apnoe) .Nearby ENT doctor can give you best opinion
It can’t be prescribed unless the patient is examined. You may follow the doctors who have examined the child. Or you may bring the child to Salamat Hospital Gujranwala for my services.
If it is affecting the child again and again and it comes along with fever as well . Get following tests done
CBc ,ESR,and ASO titre
If ASO titre comes raised or tonsils are largely enlarged then he may need surgery . But still need to have a look at the patient to see if he has allergic issues as well which might be the cause and can be managed with medication only .
