Asking for Father, Male, 73 years old, Islamabad

2 months ago, his physician discontinued Thyronorm (thyroid medicine)

Now his thyroid values are high again. His doctor cannot be contacted, so should we start thyronorm again?

Currently taking following medicines: 1- Amodip Plus 2- Maxflow 3- Napadoc 4- Levemir Insulin 5- Zurig 80mg 6- Lecolep 100mg 7- Bone Health Booster

Other health issues include Diabetes, High blood pressure, heart problem and large prostrate

Yes Thyronorm should be restarted. start with 50mcg daily and repeat Thyroid functiokn tests after 6 weeks. Also keep an eye on kidney function which looks deteriorating.

your TSH is more then 10 that's need treatnent. most of the time hypothyroidism is life long problem. check your antiTPO antibody test if postive that means you have hashimoto's thyroiditis and will have to take Thyroxine /thyronorm for life.
