Asking for Self, Male, 30 years old, UAE
I have vitiligo, I was prescribed to take Prednisolone weekly along with other medications. Is it safe to take Prednisolone during this Co-Vid 19 outbreak as it affects immune system? I am unable to reach my doctor. Grateful if any dermatologist can assist.
Hmmm I think regular prednisone is not the treatment for vitiligo although u r taking that weekly. Pls take an appointment for proper treatment
I don't know who prescribed you Prednisone for vitiligo. He must be a quack. I would strongly recommend you to consult an experienced Dermatologist for proper treatment. If you live in Karachi please visit my clinic for clinical examination and it's management.

Hello sir. Thank you for your concern.
I am based in UAE. Due to lockdown situation can't visit you right now, but would definitely visit you as soon as everything is settled.
For now, can you please let me know if Prednisolone should be continued?

NO. You should stop taking those right away. Besides compromising with ones immunity, it's dangerous to take those with some serious side effects. It's definitely not prescribed in vitiligo.
