Talk to Dermatologist on Skin Problem
Asking For Self, Female, 22 Years old, U.K.
I have these skin rashes for more than a week. These are itchy. I contacted 2 different doctors here in U.K. but they can’t diagnose it. Firstly I was using fluconazole cream and clotrimazole shampoo for shower bcz one doctor said it’s fungal infection. Then second doctor said it’s something else and prescribe me hydrocortisone 1% cream + anti histamines. I am using this for 3 days but no improvement in rashes. Itching is now much better. These are continuously growing like tiny red bumps on all over my body like chest armpits lower abdomen and now they started appear on legs and back as well. Plz I request to skin specialist doctor, plz diagnose it so that I can tell here doctors what it is .

I've been a consultant for more than a decade in London! so I kno how it works there. Also a lead consultant at Harley street so I can't agree that they can't diagnose it! It must be ur Gp treating u and not referring u yet to specialist centres! refral takes months an unless Gp can't help ...So a Dr from pak telling wht to tell to a Uk consultant seems insulting.... u should go to ur Gp and tell him to refer u, might need a diagnostic biopsy n run few tests but that's how UK system works. Regards

Thanks for ur reply. Yes I know that. Here due to corona they don’t get regular appointments. As I firstly contact nhs and through that I got video consultation appointment. Doctor prescribe antifungal which I use 4 days no results. Then I contacted nhs and then get appointment after 1 day then got face to face appointment and gp can’t diagnose and they said†ur body automatically treat this but for itching u can use anti histamine and hydrocortisone. “ this is the reply. So that’s why as it will take a long period to reach to skin specialist. I posted here. Bcz here 2 gps can’t diagnose and they said this, not me. As I couldn’t sleep at nights for about a week that’s why I thought to take help from pak doctors but my intention is clear not to insult uk doctors. But yes here medical system is too much slow. They don’t take u seriously at all. Thanks

I just need help to make correct diagnoses because it will take months to consult to specialist and for that time period I can’t bear this. Hope u will understand.

point is iv worked there for decade so I'm quite loyal to there system and we treat well there. Indeed GP CANT treat you and that's maximum they can give... If You are in London I can give you number of my colleague to help you but then again you know its 300£ + consult fee if u show pvtly to a Senior consultant. But hitting and trying Online is a worse option... if still u want to be seen in NHS go to Gp tell sure miserable and refer ASAP to a specialist in that case they will make a quick refral... that's how it works in Uk. hope it helps as u may need a diag biopsy! here ull be given steroids and I DONT favour it as it may temporarily settle it BUT NOT ideal choice and NOT best care that you Deserve. I may sound rude... But for me best possible and 100% accurate care is prime for my pts. Regards

Just call, tell ur in Misery! tell ur unable to eat or work or take care of home bec of this rash and severe psychological stress... Trust me ull get a quick refral:) this is how it works there. still if uve issues I can guide u how to reach pvtly, but for ur own better care its imp to be seen properly rather just starting steroids ...neither its fungal. so don't worry uve both options but better and safe. and Dermatology is taken seriously in UK as I kno the system so ur in better hands, get it diagnosed, run few tests, and ull be all OK Inshallah

Thanks for sharing ur concern. They certainly look bothersome but do not worry as they aren’t something that will stay permanently. Can u tell if u recently used any new lotion, shampoo, detergent, foods, or medication (any) just before the appearance of this rash ? Any exposure to pets ? Is it more itchy at night? Have u had them in the past or is it the first time ? Anyone else in the family has it ? Any past history of allergies in urself or the family ?

Thanks for ur reply. No I didn’t changed my lotion shampoo, food. But my gp changed the dose of Levothyroxine from 25 to 50mg about 3 weeks before I got these. Is this a cause of these rashes? Also I used to wear tight warm clothing like warm tights for about a week and also I didn’t used to drink water more than a glass in a day. It’s my mistake. So it may be a heat rash? And yes these are more itchy at night so I can’t sleep. This is the first time I got these. Before that I got fungal infection every summers that is easily removed by using antifungal cream/lotion. But this time i didn’t use that cream as here medical system is too much slow and after some days I got these. No pets and no body in house have it.
