Use any anti dandruff shampoo and let it stay for exact 10 minutes before washing

There are two types of dandruff. One is powdery and the other one is flaky. Powdery is due to very dry scalp and is not a disease. Just use a milder shampoo with hair conditioner.
If you have a flaky dandruff with itching and rashes, chances are you have yeast infection. In that case start with antidandruff shampoo. Initially use it daily for few days followed by alternate day shampooing. Don't wear any type of cap or a hat at all.
You should get better in about a week or 10 days. If not then you need to see a Dermatologist to assess the extent of disease and medication. Regards.
