Asking for Other, Female, 22 years old, Lahore

My kitchen help has these cuts and peeling skin on the tips of her fingers. She says she's gotten these before when she used to work at someone's house. I'm assuming it's because of the dishwashing detergent. I have provided her with gloves, and given her kestine and topical clobederm. Before this she also applied fucidin for a few days but that didn't help either. Do you think it could really be because of the detergent or could it be something viral/infectious like hsv too? I have a toddler at home so I'm particularly worried. Attaching a picture of her fingers. Thank you

It definitely is irritant toe of eczema caused by frequent use of soaps and detergents etc. It's extremely important that she does not touch those chemicals. Only permitted for personal use only.

If she had to frequently has to handle water and chemicals, she needs to put on first cotton gloves and then scotch Brite rubber gloves. Never rubber gloves directly.

better if she applies Vaseline first, put on cotton gloves and be that way for the whole fay.. When she needs to wash something, she puts on the rubber gloves over the cotton ones. When done just remove the rubber glove.

Regards

I would rather not. Not without examining the patient first. I would suggest that you consult a Dermatologist in your area. And will prescribe the meds.

We are staying at home entirely because of covid. What else do you think it could be? Could it be transmittable?
