Talk to Dermatologist on Cut From Nail Cutter

person-avatar

Asking for Self, Female, 20 years old, Lahore

Around 3 years ago I accidentally got a cut from a nail cutter (apparently it was clean...had no blood on it). The cut was more of an abrasion and a little blood came out....can i get HIV or hepatitis....? I am so scared What tests can be done to detect it? (It was 3 years ago) Can anti HIV 1 and 2 detect the presence of past HIV infection that happened a long time ago?

Aslamoalikum, what to say, your scenario bit awkward. For hep or HIV..
You must understand what you are talking about.Your way of asking totally childish.. Get an appointment for thorough diagnosis and treatment. Thanks.

If that nail clipper was recently used by a person who was HIV+ve or HBV+ve at that time.

If you feel that you may have any of those infections, The best option is to go for the blood tests. Preferably at AKUH lab.

Is any body in your family turned out to be having those infections ??

Why waited for 3 years ?

Are you hypochondriac ? Or just paranoid or both.

There is no need for any kind of lab test, unless u are hiding some vital info from us.

Please try to understand, no lab test is authentic unless history of the disease, symptoms and signs correlated.

Just lead a normal life and forget you were exposed to traumatic cut with a nail clipper.

Dear patient, it’s look very strange you had cut 3 years ago when you were 17 and you thinking about HIV now. No history where you got HIV inducing nail cutter.
