Black Spot On Tongue , Pain In Inner Lining Of Cheeks And Throat

Question

I have been extremely depressed.Please help!!! 


I had a black spot on my tongue for 6-7 months and I ignored thinking it will get fine but it increased in size on my tongue and my inner lining of cheek is hurting too and now throat. I&rsquo;m soo scared.I&rsquo;m so young and look forward to so many things in life. This is making me depressed.

I don&rsquo;t want to worry my family so I went for biopsy today and they said to get it checked from a Cosmetologist or Oral surgeon.

PLEASE guide me the best doctor in Karachi Clifton who I could get it checked from and who has dealt with something like this!!! Please

I am sorry to hear that you are very distressed and scared .I can appreciate the reasons.Oral pigmentation could be due to number of factors.Alot of them are very common and innocent condition few of them need investigations and very few prompt action.Caused can vary from simple melanin deposition to effects of drugs to clinical manifestation of systemic illness vitamin deficiency and rarely serious causes(though very retentions) unless risk factors like smoking , pan etc .
a detailed history and work up is needed.i am happy to help .Or consulting a maxillofacial clinician may help but in my experience most dentist and max facial have very little awareness of medical causes they are mainly interested in operative procedures( AT least in UK ) so seeing a good physician can be helpful to start with

Imp to consult an oral max FAC, and run few tests and possibly a diagnostic BX. stressing won't help.... taking steps will help and Inshallah ull be OK! So get it checked n don't stress out, Regards
