Talk to Dermatologist on Alopecia + Hair Loss

AoA Dr, This starts 3 years back, when i noticed that my hair are gone from certain area, due to my negligence it spread, i thought it'll go away on its own.i tried different totkay, consulted skin specialist and he gave me 2 cream+multivita for 3 months but nothing happened and he said its alopecia. as its 3 years can it still be cured? i have researched about alopecia, it has something to do with my immune system.what should i do now.
