I cannot maintain good oral hygiene despite brushing twice daily, whenever I brush my gums bleed. someone advised me to take flagyl which led to great improvement but only temporarily. am I suffering from bacterial overgrowth. how to prevent that for long term how to get rid of it plz plz plz guide
There is no criteria of taking any mouthwash or antibiotics it’s a temporary treatment ... please visit a nearby Dentist and go for complete scaling and root planning .....

As if you said you are doing brushing twice a day but still no improvement in your hygiene ..and bleeding gums is a diseased gums basically so you need to have a treatment first .
Your dentist will do your scaling and polishing and medicate you accordingly
With in 2 ,3 days or immediately you will notice a visible health of your gums ..they will tighten and will not bleed on brushing .
Brushing twice with correct method is recommended .
If after brushing plaque is still there then it means you havnt brushed that region abd it will attract the microbes again and will colonise and calcise into calculus and bleeding gums .
So first of all you need scaling ..not the medicine .
You have to remove the cause instead of camoflauging the cause
excellent answer mam, also recommend me a dentist, or if u are a dentist I want my scaling done from you
